Different facets of an actor
M.R. Gopakumar is a gifted actor. Kozhikode got a chance to discover another facet of the actor's personality recently.
Gopakumar made an impressive speech at a function in the city to mark the release of a music album.
The Thiruvananthapuram-based actor quoted William Wordsworth, Kumaran Asan and O.N.V. Kurup to drive home his point: how a poet sees what we do in an entirely different light. "We may know the scientific truth about rain, but only a poet could imagine it as a dark cloud coming to the sky with a handful of water from the sea," he said, referring to ONV's `Marivillin... ,' a popular song from the play `Sarvekallu.'
At the same function, actor Mamukkoya demonstrated he needed no help from a scriptwriter to regale people.
