CHENNAI: Southwest monsoon has been vigorous over coastal Andhra Pradesh and active over Telangana. Rainfall occurred at most places over coastal Karnataka and at many places over Kerala, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and at a few places over interior Karnataka. Isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu and Rayalaseema. Mainly dry weather prevailed over Lakshadweep. The following stations recorded very heavy to heavy rainfall in cm: Calingapattinam 19, Tekkali (Srikakulam dt) and Kunnavaram (Khammam dt) 10 each.

FORECAST (valid until Saturday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at most places over coastal Karnataka and north coastal Andhra Pradesh, at many places over Kerala, Telangana, interior Karnataka and south coastal Andhra Pradesh and at a few places over Rayalaseema and Lakshadweep. Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry.

Heavy Rainfall Warning: Isolated heavy to very heavy rain is likely to occur over north coastal Andhra Pradesh during next 48 hours and isolated heavy rain is also likely to occur over Karnataka, Telangana and south coastal Andhra Pradesh during the same period.
