Airport staff to go on mass leave

NEW DELHI: Airport employees across the nation are to go on a two-day mass leave on August 17 and 18 to protest against privatisation of the Delhi and Mumbai airports.

M.K. Ghoshal, general secretary of the Airport Authority of India Employees Union, told The Hindu on Thursday that the AAI employees would go on mass leave from 7 a.m. on August 17 to 7 p.m. on August 18. ``We are protesting against arbitrary stopping of tripartite meeting between the employees, Civil Aviation Ministry and new joint venture companies.
