Reward for nabbing militant

SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Police will give Rs. 1 lakh in cash and a Government job to a person who nabs a grenade thrower or provides information leading to an arrest of a militant, according to an advertisement in local newspapers on Thursday.

The identity of thosegiving information would be kept secret, it said.

The Deputy Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Range, Farooq Ahmed, said award announcements had helped a lot in fighting militancy in the past few weeks. "Yes we got vital information after we announced rewards ranging from Rs 1 to 5 lakh," he told The Hindu .
