RAVULAPALEM: Semifinalists were spotted in the girls' singles segment of the AP State junior (u-19) badminton tournament at the Cosmopolitan Recreation Centre here on Thursday.

Top seed Jyothi Swaroopa, who faced a stiff resistance from Suswetha in the first game, regained her composure to outplay her rival 22-20, 21-13, while third seed Sikki Reddy sealed the fate of I. Sravani 21-13, 21-18.

In the boys' section, N. Arun, Vikranth, Bharat and Anil Kumar entered the quarterfinals without much sweat.
