U.N. team meets Koirala

KATHMANDU: Staffan de Mistura, head of the high level U.N. team that came to Nepal to study the its role in resolving the decade-long conflict in the country, met Prime Minster Girija Prasad Koirala and Deputy Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli on Thursday morning. The meeting held at Mr. Koirala's residence in Kathmandu was focused on the peace process and the issue of arms management, sources said. Mr. Koirala's foreign affairs adviser Suresh Chalishe and Samuel Tamarat of the U.N. team were also present at the meeting. Mr. Mistura also met Mr. Oli in the Foreign Ministry later in the morning. Later in the day, the Mistura-led team met the Government talks team, Coordinator of the Peace Secretariat, Ramchandra Paudel, and peace process supervisors Daman Nath Dhungana and Padmaratna Tuladhar to discuss the attempts on reaching a conclusion on arms management. — Xinhua
