Skeet team takes penultimate position

ZAGREB: Former National champion Naveen Jindal shot a 113 out of 125 and finished 74th in a field of 111 shooters in the men's skeet event of the 49th World shooting championship on Thursday.

Naveen was unable to maintain the initial high standard when he had shot 49 out of 50, as he slipped to rounds of 21, 23 and 20.

Mairaj Ahmed Khan was at 79th with a 112 following rounds of 22, 21, 23, 23 and 23 while Amit Sanghi was 99th with rounds of 22, 21, 19, 21 and 23.

The Indian team, with a score of 331, thrashed Bulgaria by 20 points in avoiding the last place in a field of 25 teams. Italy topped the list with 365 points.
