AISF meet begins today

ALAPPUZHA : The All India Students Federation (AISF) will organise several programmes from August 4 to 7 as a part the valedictory function of the anniversary celebrations of the federation.

AITUC district secretary and chairman of the reception committee T.J. Anjelose and AISF State secretary Mahesh Kakkath told a press conference here on Thursday that the function would begin with the flag hoisting ceremony at PKV Nagar (Alappuzha municipal ground) on August 4 at 5 p.m. A Palestine-Lebanon solidarity meeting would be held at 5.30 p.m. A students' rally would be held on August 5. The rally would begin from Bhattathirippurayidom at 3 p.m. and would end at PKV Nagar. CPI State secretary Veliyam Bhargavan would inaugurate a public meeting at PKV Nagar at 4 p.m. AISF State president K.S. Arun would preside.

CPI secretary D. Raja would formally inaugurate the valedictory meeting at C.K. Sathish Kumar Nagar (Sugathan Memorial Hall) on August 6 at 11 a.m.

Those who would speak at the function include Pannyan Ravindran, MP, and CPI State assistant secretary K.E. Ismail.
