Rs. 30,000 stolen from shop

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: Four persons took away Rs. 30,000 from the cash drawer of a shop by diverting the attention of the cashier at Mettuguda on Thursday.

The four came to the rice shop in the guise of customers. While one waited outside on a bike, three of them asked the cashier if he had currency notes with the letter `S' printed on them. While the cashier was speaking to another customer, the trio collected the money from the drawer and fled.

One of the shop workers raised an alarm forcing the four to abandon their bike. Inquiries revealed the vehicle has been registered in Karnataka.
