In the grip of viral fever

Packed clinics and hospitals, busy medical store counters and rising absenteeism at offices. With the city appearing to be in the grip of viral fevers, chikungunya has turned out to be the most dreaded word. And the deliberations cover how a disease common in Africa has managed to sneak into the city and which stream of medicine is best to handle it. After initial reluctance, even the administration appears to be waking out of slumber to take note of the problem but appropriate steps in this direction still look elusive.
