Intermittent power supply in city

Bangalore: Power supply will be intermittent from 10 a.m. on Saturday to 6 p.m. on Sunday in areas fed by 220 kV HSR receiving station in view of enhancing the capacity of 20 MVA 66/11 kV transformer with a 31.5 MVA 66/11 kV transformer by Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Ltd. (KPTCL). The areas affected include HSR Layout sectors 1 to 7, Bommanahalli, Kudlu, Jakkasandra, Kaikondanahalli, CPWD Goldwin, INTEL, Purvankara, Sun City and surrounding areas.

There will be unscheduled load shedding for 15 days from August 6 in areas fed from NRS, Vijayanagar, Chandra Layout, A Station, Victoria Hospital and Telecom Layout sub-stations as KPTCL will replace the 100 MVA 220/66 kV transformer with 150 MVA 220/66 kV transformer at NRS. Only one 100 MVA transformer will be in service instead of two at NRS during this period. Duration and frequency of shedding will depend on load conditions.

The affected areas include NRS, Rajajinagar 1st to 6th blocks, Industrial Estate, Manjunathanagar, Cholurpalya, Magadi Road, Basaveswaranagar 1st to 4th blocks, 1st to 14th stages, Kamalanagar, KHB Colony, SBI Staff Colony, Adarsha Layout, Indiranagar Slum, JC Nagar, BEML, Nagpur, West of Chord Road, Kirloskar Electrical Foundry, Soap Factory, Bhovipalya, Yeshwanthpur Market, Prakashnagar, Ramachandrapura, LN Pura, Okalipuram, Dayanandnagar, Bhashyam Nagar, Nagappa Block, Kalappa Block, Subramanyanagar, Dr. Raj Road, Gayathrinagar, Milk Colony, Devaiah Park, Rajajinagar 4th N Block, Sujatha cinema and surrounding areas; Vijayanagar, RPC Layout, Sriramnagar, BEL Layout, Maruthinagar, Amar Jyoti Nagar; Chandra Layout, Subbanna Garden, Priyadarshini Layout, Anubhava Nagar, Mudalapalya, Canara Bank Colony, CHBCS Layout, Nagarbhavi 2nd Stage; A Station, Nagarthpet, Cottonpet, Gandhinagar, Avenue Road, Nrupatunga Road, Bangalore University, MS Building, Law College Complex, Secretariat, Mysore Bank Head Office; Victoria Hospital, Minto Hospital, Jain Temple, Journalists' Colony, KR Market, Bull Temple Road, Govindappa Road, Gandhi Bazaar Road and KIMS Hospital.
