Birla Sun Life infuses Rs. 30 cr.

CHENNAI: The promoters of Birla Sun Life Insurance have infused an additional capital of Rs. 30 crore into the capital base of the company. The infusion enhances the company's capital to Rs.520 crore as of July 31.

The company is expanding the distribution network and investing in technology infrastructure. According to a release, the additional infusion is as per the current Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA) guidelines and is in the ratio of 74:26 between the Aditya Birla group and Sun Life Financial.

The company plans additional branches in smaller towns across India, the release added.
