BANGALORE: St. Joseph's Indian Middle School scored a thumping 6-1 victory over St. John's to win the inter-school hockey tournament for the Allan Macbride Trophy, conducted by the Anglo-Indian Association. Mohammed Rahil (21st, 36th and 49th) found the net thrice, while Sumanth Samuel (13th), Satwik Aiyanna (27th) and Jagath Nachappa (45th) scored once each for the winners. Henry (second) scored for St. John's. In the girls' final, St. Euphrasia's downed Vidya Shilp Academy 3-0 with Sarita (sixth and 33rd) scoring a brace and Zaiba (42nd) slotting the third. The following special prizes were awarded: Girls: Best goalkeeper: Sukanya (St. Euphrasia's `B'). Upcoming players: S. Gaytri (Frank Anthony Public School) and Navya (Evershine HS). Boys: Best goalkeeper: Ashwin (St. Germain's). Best players of 2006: M. Anup (Baldwin) and Mark Lal (St. John's).
