Bangalore: The viewers should protest against films that glorify crime, Kannada filmstar Tara has said. At an interactive session with Radio City here on Thursday, she said: "Cinema has strong impact on the people. It is the responsibility of the film industry to stop glorifying crime." About "Cyanide", which has been a hit, she said: "The response is astounding. It has been successful in reaching the audience of all classes and age groups." Cyanide proved that people accept good and sensible films. Director Ramesh had balanced the storyline well without giving way for controversies, she said. The actress, who played Mrudula in th efilm, said she got the feel of the character by speaking to Ranganath, husband of Mrudula, who was involved in a real-life situation with extremists, a few years ago. She said that she won as an actress when Mr. Ranganath said: "I saw my wife on the screen through Tara". Terming "Cyanide" as a bridge cinema, she said she was fortunate to have worked with the doyens of the Kannada cinema. Movies with a better theme can take the Kannada film industry back to its golden period of seventies. Appreciating Kishan, the youngest director of Kannada entertainment industry who is directing "Care of Footpath", she said she enjoyed working with him. The budding talent had to be encouraged. "I do have plans of producing a comedy," the actress added.
