KURNOOL: Students led by the ABVP staged a demonstration here on Friday to highlight the problems in junior and degree colleges. City Secretary of ABVP Kasi Viswanath alleged that most of the colleges did not have sufficient staff strength, which seriously affected teaching. Also, several colleges did not have even basic infrastructure, he alleged. The ABVP leader urged the Government to post qualified teachers as principals, initiate measures for checking mass copying and introduce common fee system in all colleges. He said the colleges without recognition be wound up immediately before they cheat students. He said cut in scholarships had seriously affected students belonging to the Backward Class communities.
