Mild quake experienced

Bangalore: An earthquake of slight intensity, measuring 3.4 on the Richter Scale, occurred in the region on the borders of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu around 7.30 a.m. on Friday.

A duty official at the Meteorological Department said the earthquake had its epicentre at 12.9 degrees north latitude and 73.4 degrees east longitude. It was unlikely for people in Bangalore to have felt the tremors because of the slight intensity of the quake, he added.
