Magistrate gets bail in dowry harassment case

Bangalore:
A judicial official of Kolar district, who was booked under the Dowry Prohibition Act for allegedly harassing his wife, was granted bail by a Srinivasapura court.
Third Fast Track Judge Lalitha, who heard the bail plea, granted him interim bail.
Vijay Kumar, Civil Judge (Junior Division) and Judicial Magistrate First Class, Srinivaspura, was booked under Section 498 (A) of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 3 and 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act, which is a non-bailable offence.
It was stated that his wife, Mrudula, was upset that she was being harassed for dowry and lodged a complaint with the Srinivasapura police.
