Chief promoter of `money doubling' firm held

The accused has revealed that some police officials had helped him in carrying out his business

BANGALORE: The South Division police on Thursday arrested Krishna Murthy, chief promoter of Dharshanika Foundation, an alleged money doubling firm that has cheated investors of crores of rupees. Sources in the city police told The Hindu that they arrested Krishna Murthy following complaints by several investors with the Shankarapuram police. The police were in the process of recovering cash and other properties from him.

Krishna Murthy (55), a former postmaster, is from Gauribidanur taluk in Kolar district. A few years ago, Krishna Murthy and Rajendra, a Bangalore-based businessman, started Dharshanika Foundation, the sources said.
