Four Kannada bhavans to be built in Bangalore
Special Correspondent
BANGALORE:
To mark the golden jubilee of the reorganisation of the State, the Government has decided to build four Kannada bhavans in Bangalore.
Addressing presspersons here on Friday, Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy said they would come up on the four approaches to the city.
The "Suvarna Karnataka" celebrations would be inaugurated on November 1 at the Kanteerava Stadium here.
Appeal for postal stamp
To mark the occasion, the Centre would be urged to release a postal stamp, he said.
He said cultural troupes would take out "Suvarna Karnataka Samskriti Dibbannas" from eight directions and they would converge in Bangalore on October 30. The "Dibbanas" would highlight the cultural richness and variety of the State. The "Dibbanas" have been organised by various academies such as Janapada, Shilpakala, Nataka, Sangeetha, Tulu, Urdu and Kodava and the Kannada Book Authority, he said.
The cultural complexes would be built in Bangalore, Dharwad, Gulbarga, Udupi, Shimoga and Madikeri. A complex would be constructed at Belgaum to mark the World Kannada conference, he said.
