Bangalore: The former Minister B.K. Chandrashekar on Saturday took exception to the statement of the senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Sushma Swaraj, MP, that the Rs. 150-crore bribery charge made by the suspended BJP MLC G. Janardhan Reddy against Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy and two Ministers was a small issue and would be sorted out soon. In a press release, Mr. Chandrashekar said it was unfortunate that the former Union Minister had made such a statement while in Bellary to attend the Varamahalakshmi Puja. Mr. Reddy, he said, had made the allegation openly two times. How could it be settled secretly by party leaders, he asked. If the allegation was a small issue to be settled among the coalition partners, was there any need for Mr. Kumaraswamy and Home Minister M.P. Prakash to file a defamation suit against Mr. Reddy? It was unfortunate that senior party leaders had been visiting Karnataka only to deny the charge. They could not hide these questions from the minds of the people, he added.
