SIMI activist held in Patna

PATNA:
The police on Saturday arrested an activist of the Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) here and took him to Mumbai for interrogation in connection with the July 11 train blasts.
With the help of the Patna police, the Anti-Terrorist Squad from Mumbai picked up Ziauddin Ansari from a locality under the Phulwarisharif police station. It is said that during interrogation at the station, Ansari maintained that he had been associated with the SIMI till a few years ago. Denying his role in the blasts, he said he was employed with a company in Mumbai and that he came here to see his mother.
The police said his brother was also in Mumbai.
Earlier the ATS picked up Mohammad Kamal and Khalid Aziz from Madhubani district along the Indo-Nepal border.
