TRIUMPHANT LOT: Chinmaya Vidyalaya (Taylors Road) students receiving the Business Battle 2006 overall prize from C.K. Ranganathan of Cavin Kare on Thursday.
CHENNAI: One student learnt the hard way that you cannot claim to be an M.A. in Psychology if you spell psychology wrong on your resume. Participants in a mock interview event called `Face the Board' found that the devil really is in the detail. This was one of the events at the `Business Battle', an inter-school commerce culturals hosted by Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan Senior Secondary School, Nungambakkam. What students lacked in experience, they made up in enthusiasm . Their interviews were all about integrity and morals. Students from about 25 schools participated in events that had a common theme business and had to match wits against each other in advertising, marketing, discussions and general knowledge. In `Bulls and Bears', they even got a taste of paralysing the stock market.Sashi Kumar, chairman of the Asian College of Journalism inaugurated the proceedings while Cavin Kare chairman-managing director C.K. Ranganathan, as chief guest, left the students with an inspiring message at the end of the day. The overall winners of Business Battle 2006 were Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Taylors Rd, while Vidya Mandir, Mylapore stood second.
