JAIPUR: Garib Nawaz Express, linking the pilgrim towns of Ajmer and Pushkar in Rajasthan with coastal southern India, would start running between Yashwantpur (Bangalore) in Karnataka and Ajmer on a weekly basis from August 11. Union Minister of State for Railways R. Velu will flag off the train's inaugural trip from Bangalore next Friday. This is going to be the third train linking Ajmer to distant places, launched after the publication of the new railway time-table in July. The other two trains are between Ajmer and Kishenganj in Bihar and Ajmer and Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand. According to S.B. Gandhi, chief public relations officer of the North-West Railway, the train (6232) would start from Yashwantpur on every Friday at 5.35 pm to reach Ajmer on the third day at 5.30 pm. The train (6231) will start from Ajmer on Monday at 5.50 am to reach Yashwantpur on the third day morning at 6. The major stations en route are Dharmawaram, Anantpur, Guntakal, Bellary, Hospet, Koppel, Gadga, Hubli, Dharwad, Belgaum, Miraj, Sangli, Karad, Satara, Pune, Lonawala, Kalyan, Bhiwandi Road, Vasai Road, Vapi, Valsad, Surat, Vadodara, Anand, Nadiyad, Ahmedabad, Mehsana, Palanpur, Abu Road, Falna, Marwar Junction and Beawar. The train with 21 compartments would include three general compartments, 11 sleeper compartments, two AC bogies each in three-tier and two-tier categories.
