JAIPUR: Five persons were killed and 15 others injured when a bus collided with a train at an unmanned railway crossing at Narodra village near Laxmangarh in Sikar district of Rajasthan on Saturday. A woman died on the spot, while four others succumbed to their injuries in the hospital. The mishap occurred when the rural private bus full of passengers got stuck at the metre gauge railway track and a local train coming from Sadulpur to Sikar rammed into its front portion causing an extensive damage. Those killed were sitting on the front seats of the bus. The injured were rushed to the Kalayn Government Hospital at Sikar where two of them succumbed to injuries. Two others in a critical condition were taken to the Government Hospital in Laxmangarh where they died. Reports reaching here said two of the injured people were still serious and had been referred to Sawai Man Singh Hospital here. The woman who died on the spot has not been identified and the body has been kept in the mortuary in Sikar hospital. The district administration and railway officials reached the accident site and launched investigations. An announcement regarding a railway inquiry into the mishap was yet to be made.
