Inter-school football tournament postponed

HYDERABAD: Sachdev Sports inter-school football tournament scheduled to commence at Trimulgherry Village Ground this week will now be held from August 10, according to S. Tony, secretary of Shastri Soccer Club. Sixteen teams are in the fray for the event and the fixtures can be had from the M. Mohan, vice-president of the Club, or on Phone No. 27993322.

Selection trials

Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh will organise selection trials to pick the State civil services teams for the forthcoming All India tournaments from August 15 at district-level to State-level on September 6.

The District Sports Development Officers will monitor the selections in coordination with D. Ravi, Deputy Director. Selections will be held in athletics, badminton, bridge, basketball, carrom, swimming, chess, table tennis, volleyball, weightlifting, wrestling, powerlifting, cricket, football, hockey, kabaddi and tennis.SAAP coaches of concerned disciplines were nominated to be involved in the selections with the General Administration Department being the authority to verify the eligibility norms. Inter-school cricket

The ninth Independence Cup inter-school cricket tournament will be held from August 9 at Osmania University. The event was originally scheduled to commence from August 7 but put off due to heavy rains. Further details can be had on Phone No. 9346441459.
