Kaleswaram records 630 mm rainfall

HYDERABAD: Kaleswaram in Karimnagar district where Pranahita joins the Godavari, record a rainfall of 630 mm during the 24-hour period ended Saturday morning, the highest in its recorded history for that much duration.

Many other places in North Telangana were also battered by heavy rain. Utnoor and Kamareddy recorded 310 mm and 280 mm of rainfall respectively.

The other chief amounts of rainfall recorded during the period were:

Nizamabad, Chennur 230 mm each; Adilabad, Ramagundam, Sircilla 220 mm each; Manthani, Metpalli 210 mm each; Huzurabad, Karimnagar, Nizamsagar, Sirpur 200 mm each; Ramannapet, Sultnabad 190 mm each; Armoor, Asifabad, Mulug 180 mm each; Banswada, Bodhan, Navipet, Sriramsagar, Mudhole 170 mm each; Perur 160 mm; Medak, Dubbak, Jagtial, Parkal 150 mm each; Hanamkonda, Boath, 140 mm each; and Jangaon, Mahabubnagar, Narsampet and Nirmal 130 mm each.
