CHENNAI: Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK) general secretary Vaiko said on Saturday that the party, undeterred by repressive measures, would continue its political struggle.

Addressing a meeting, where he released a book titled "Nimiravaikkum Nellai," he said the MDMK would submit to love and affection but not to repression. "Till our death, we will continue our journey with our heads held high."

    Invaluable information

Referring to the rare and invaluable information found in the enlarged edition of the book authored by his party colleague K.S. Radhakrishnan, the MDMK leader said high traditions of composite Tirunelveli district such as valour, communal harmony, love for Tamil language and patriotism should be infused in the youth.

Mr. Vaiko made it clear that his party never supported violence or acts of terrorism. It was natural to support the Tamils of the island, who had been fighting to free themselves from oppression and live with dignity and honour, he said.

Mr. Radhakrishnan said he was in political wilderness for the last five years after he left the MDMK. He utilised that period to gather background materials for bringing out the new edition of the book.

    K. Rajanarayanan presided over the meeting. Bala Prajapathi Adigal received the first copy of the book.
