CHENNAI: The death of S. Shilpa, (24), an airhostess with a private airlines, is a case of murder followed by suicide, the police said here on Saturday. After the killing, her boy friend, N. Jayanth (26) of Haryana, committed suicide, they said. A senior police officer in Adyar said there were no external forces involved in the incident and the murder was the result of a conflict between the couple, who were in love with each other. The viscera had been sent for chemical analysis, which would come in about two days, the officials said. Police said post-mortem report was expected to reach them in a day or two. After receiving the report, the case would be closed, the officer said. It may be recalled that as Shilpa did not report for duty for a few days after which some of her colleagues called her parents in Bangalore. The parents replied that their daughter did not come home. Following this they went to the flat located on 3rd Seaward Road in Valmiki Nagar, Tiruvanmiyur. As there was no response, the police were informed and they forced their way in and found both dead. The bodies were then removed to Government Royapettah hospital for post-mortem.
