Facilities inspected for trauma care centre

Government planning to begin nine trauma care centres along the NH 5


  • Centres planned between Gudur and Itcchapuram
  • There would be a set of dedicated and trained paramedics

    GUNTUR : A three-member team of doctors visited the Government General Hospital here on Saturday to examine the feasibility of setting up a full-fledged trauma care centre as part of the Government's policy of starting such centres along the national highways.

    The team of doctors— Anup Raj Gogia from the Delhi Safdarjung Hospital, Joint Commissioner of Andhra Pradesh Vaidya Vignana Parishad Amanullah Khan and Medical Directorate Chief Medical Officer M.S. Mathur went round the hospital and examined facilities.

    GGH Superintendent B. Mohan Rao explained the facilities and the recent upgradations.

    The centres were proposed at Nellore, Ongole, Guntur, Eluru, Rajahmundry, Tuni, Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam and Tekkali.
