Alumni panel plumps for advisory body

GMC auditorium not to be let out for non-academic purposes


  • Full monetary support for hall maintenance
  • Seminar hall not to be given as permanent lecture hall/classroom

    GUNTUR: The Utilisation and Management Committee of Guntur Medical College Alumni of North America Auditorium met here on Saturday and decided to form an advisory body on auditorium affairs.

    The GMCANA pledged full monetary support for maintenance of the hall till this financial year-end if it was not able to generate resources for itself. The panel members resolved to meet the shortfall of funds to maintain the auditorium.

    Committee members -- Vasudeva Rao, S. Amarnath, Government Medical College Principal K. Uma Maheswara Rao, former principal Shobha Mohan, GMCANA coordinator P. Nagarjuna Reddy, and others attended the meeting that decided to form an advisory body with representation from PG Students' Association, House Surgeons, Students, and others.

    The managing committee also resolved not to let out the premises to entertainment and personal celebrations and let it out only for academic and related programmes so that the auditorium is not spoiled. The reading room would be made free for students and seminar hall would not be given as permanent lecture hall/classroom.
