One detained

NEW DELHI: One person has reportedly been detained by the Crime Branch of the Delhi police in connection with Inderlok murders in which seven members of a family were found murdered this past Monday.

It is learnt that the person, believed to be a close relative of the victims, was detained by the Crime Branch sleuths on the basis of some significant leads. Senior police officials remained tight-lipped about the progress.

Seven persons, including a middle-aged couple and five of their children, had been brutally done to death and there was also an attempt to set their house on fire probably to destroy all evidence of the crime. Further investigations are on.

Traffic policemen held

NEW DELHI: A Sub-Inspector and two constables of the Delhi traffic police have been arrested by the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) of the Delhi Government for allegedly taking bribe from truck owners coming to Azadpur Sabzi Mandi with their goods in the morning. Another person, allegedly aiding the police personnel, was also arrested at the spot.

According to the ACB, a trap was laid following information about traffic police personnel accepting bribes from truck owners at the Mandi every morning. Sub-Inspector Praveen Kumar and Constables Satya Pal and Kaptan Singh were arrested around 4-30 a.m. The police personnel as well as the fourth person to be arrested were found to be in possession of bribe money.

The police personnel have been booked under the Prevention of Corruption Act while the fourth person has been booked under various sections of the IPC.
