THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Indian embassy in Muscat is in constant touch with the authorities of Oman in order to provide all possible assistance to the Indians in prison in that country. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who conveyed this in a letter to Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan on Saturday, said that till July 27 as many as 884 of the 1,914 Indians in prison in that country were released and 641 of them had been brought back. Some 389 persons were still in prison. Steps were being taken to ensure adequate facilities for them in the camp. The Indian Consulate was trying to get them released.
