ALAPPUZHA: The United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government at the Centre must take more effort to implement the Common Minimum Programme (CMP), CPI national secretary D. Raja has said. Inaugurating the delegates' meeting of the All India Students Federation's (AISF) 70th anniversary celebrations, Mr. Raja said the CPI would not tolerate any lapses on the part of the Government in implementing the CMP. He said the Centre needed to give more attention to the problems faced by common man. He said the education sector in the State resembled a war front. The Union and the State Governments were trying to co mmercialise education, he said.
