Plea to remove hurdles to project

Special Correspondent

Thiruvananthapuram: The Capital City Development Forum has urged the Kerala State Housing Board (KSHB) to remove the obstacles in implementation of the Habitat Centre project.

A pressnote issued by forum secretary K.T. Roy said the Housing and Urban Development Corporation had decided to shelve the Rs.60-crore project because the State Government and the KSHB had failed to take follow-up action. The forum also urged the residents of Valiathura to make compromises for the proposed Maritime Institute. They said the institute was likely to be shifted to another district if the people were not willing to provide land.
