Isolated rain likely in T.N.

CHENNAI: Southwest monsoon has been vigorous over Telangana and active over coastal Karnataka.

Rainfall occurred at most places over coastal Karnataka, at many places over Telangana and north interior Karnataka and at a few places over south Interior Karnataka, Isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema and Kerala. Mainly Dry weather prevailed over Lakshadweep.

The following stations recorded heavy rainfall in centimetres:-

Metpalle (Karimnagar dt), Nizamabad and Bodan (Nizamabad dt) 11 each, Sriramsagar (Nizamabad dt), Navipet (Nizamabad dt) and Kollur (Udupi dt) 10 each, Armoor, Banswada and Madnoor (all Nizamabad dt) and Nilkund (Uttara Kannanda dt) 9 each, Nizamsagar (Nizamabad dt) 8 and Jagitiyal (Karimnagar dt) and Shirali 7 each.

The other chief amounts of rainfall recorded in cm:

Bheemgal and Kamareddy (both Nizamabad dt), Yellapura (Uttara Kannda dt) and Thirthahalli (Shimoga dt) 6 each, Gerusoppa (Uttara Kannada dt) 5, Kalingapatnam, Ramagundam, Dubbak, Naryanakhed and Ramyanmet (all Medak dt) 4 each.

FORECAST (valid until Tuesday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at most places over coastal and north interior Karnataka, at many places over Telangana, south interior Karnataka and Kerala and at a few places over coastal Andhra Pradesh and Lakshadweep. Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry and Rayalaseema.

Heavy Rainfall Warning: Isolated heavy rain is likely to occur over coastal and north interior Karnataka during next 48 hours.
