CHENNAI: The much-awaited wedding of Tamil cinema is to happen on September 11. Actors Suriya and Jyotika will tie the knot that day. Suriya's father, actor Sivakumar, made the official announcement in a public statement on Saturday. "With profound happiness, we inform the marriage of our eldest son, Suriya, with Jyotika, daughter of Mr. And Mrs. Chander Sadanah, on Monday, September 11. The reception will be held on Tuesday, September 12, at Mayor Sri Ramanathan Chettiyar Centre, Raja Annamalaipuram. We solicit your generous blessing on the young couple." The couple will land in Chennai early on Sunday, August 6. They had been working on their latest film, the yet-to-be-released `Jillinu Oru Kaadhal' in Switzerland. Handsome Suriya and bubbly Jyothika have acted together in four films, `Poovellam Kettuppar', Kakka Kakka', `Peralagan' and `Mayavi'. `Jillinu Oru Kadhal' is their fifth movie together. The Suriya - Jyotika romance was perhaps the most open in south Indian cinema, and the two could often be seen together even in public functions over the past four years. An aside is Jyotika's statement that she would quit cinema after marriage. Only time will tell if she will leave filmdom and her fans heartbroken.
