KOCHI: Hindustan Paper Corporation Limited (HPC) has paid a maiden dividend of Rs.15.20 crore to the Government of India for 2005-06. Chairman and Managing Director Raji Philip presented the cheque to Union Minister Santosh Mohan Dev. The company's three operating mills have recorded an output of 320,118-tonnes as against 309,514 tonnes during the previous fiscal. HPC has exceeded the combined installed capacity of 300,000 tonnes for the fourth time in succession. Implementation of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solutions, establishment of a tissue culture laboratory for large-scale production of high yielding bamboo species, initiation of clean development mechanism projects for availing of carbon emission reduction opportunities, increased thrust on local area entrepreneurship development and outsourcing of non-core activities have been significant highlights of performance. Its emphasis on operational excellence, enhancing resource use efficiency and self-sufficiency, paved the way for increased share of captive power generation.
