Roanoke triumphs

Hyderabad: Roanoke (A. Imran Khan up) won the Air Command Cup, the main event of the races held here on Sunday. The winner is owned by M/s. G. Prabhakar Reddy and A. Prasada Rao and trained by L. D'Silva.

Fines: In the Sardar Patel Plate (Div. II), jockey B.V. Krishnan (Ansonia) was fined Rs.1000 for shifting in soon after the start and, in the process, causing interference to Golden Gate (Sequeira).

In the Sardar Patel Plate (Div. I), Amazing Conquest (B.V. Krishnan) racing on the heels of Careerist (A. Imran Khan) in the straight suddenly ducked in at about 400 metres, clipping the heels of the latter, stumbled and fell, in the process dislodging jockey B.V. Krishnan. As the incident was purely accidental, no blame could be attributed to either jockey and no action was taken. Jockey Krishnan, who was given immediate medical aid, has been referred to the Apollo Hospitals for further medical examination. Amazing Conquest was trotting lame and was also bleeding from both nostrils after the race.
