BANGALORE: Kannadasahitya.com, a web portal dedicated to Kannada literature, celebrated its sixth anniversary in association with "Kannada Snathakoththara Adhyayana Kendra" here on Sunday. An initiative by Kannadasahitya.com, Sampoorna CMS and "Kannada Pada Pareekshaka" (Kannada spell check) were launched on the occasion. The Sampoorna CMS concept is designed by Shekarpoorna, while coding and development are by Raghav Kotekar. The Kannada spell check is developed by Rudramurthy. Inaugurating the sixth anniversary of Kannadasahitya.com, writer U.R. Ananthamurthy said 2006 should be celebrated as literacy year and it would be a real tribute to thespian. The actor was no less when compared to any writer in Kannada, he said and added that Rajkumar had made the literary language look simple because of his free flowing speeches. Speaking after the release of Sampoorna CMS and Kannada Pada Pareekshaka, Dr. Ananthamurthy said Rajkumar was a role model for every Kannidiga and his simple principles should be followed. Select songs and dialogues of Rajkumar should be collected and distributed to all gram panchayats and this would help in educating people of the State. Gujarat and Maharashtra had used songs and dialogues in literacy campaigns and this could also be followed by the State to increase the literacy level, he said. Strong representation of Kannada and its culture on the Internet was the main objective behind Kannadasahitya.com. Use of Kannada in every aspect of computer was the real challenge for Kannadigas. Kannadasahitya.com had taken the initiative. Sampoorna CMS could be used in educational institutions and universities to encourage Kannada. Multi-character encoding, different designs in pagination and syllabus in various languages were the advantages of Sampoorna CMS, according to those behind kannadasahitya.com.
