MAHABUBNAGAR: District Collector V. Usha Rani has exhorted the principals of private and Government colleges in the district to promote voluntary blood donation by students so as to make available safe and adequate quantity of blood for the needy persons. Addressing a meeting of principals of private and Government colleges here on Sunday, she stressed the need for preventing HIV/AIDS among people, particularly students, by creating awareness. She exhorted the principals to inculcate skills to bring behavioural as well as social changes among students. She further requested them to formulate a group of 50 students as young Red Cross group that will participate in social welfare activities voluntarily. To contain the dreaded disease of AIDS, the Collector said awareness campaign should be taken up vigorously.
