TENALI: There is a great need to preserve the rich cultural heritage and encourage people who are working hard in that direction, according to cardiologist and writer Patibandla Dakshinamurty. At a function organised by Sarada Sahiti Samskruta Seva Samithi here on Sunday to release the book `Srikakula vaibhavam' on the history of Srikakulam village of Ghantasala mandal in Krishna district, he said that the author, Ponukumati Venkatasubbaiah, had taken great pains to compile the history of the village from various sources. Writers from the region -- Enala Malleshwara Rao, Somala Lakshman Babu, Sheik Mohiuddin Batcha, Hanumantha Rao and others -- felicitated the author.
