KURNOOL: The Greyhounds team, which killed two extremists in the encounter near Ahobilam in the Nallamala forest on Saturday, realized that what they stormed was a top-level meeting of the CPI (Maoist). The Greyhounds men killed an extremist and recovered a .303 rifle. In the process, the troops lost one of their colleagues Venkata Nageswara Rao. In the early hours on Sunday, the policemen spotted one more extremist and shot him dead. An AK 47 rifle was seized. He is suspected to be Raghavulu alias Obulesu, State Committee Member of CPI (Maoist) and top functionary of Rayalaseema Division. Another extremist is believed to be Damsetta alias Kranti, dalam member. After a thorough search of the area, the police found a large quantity of weapons, ammunition and other paraphernalia.
