HYDERABAD: Agriculture Minister N. Raghuveera Reddy will lead a three-member State delegation to an international convention of agricultural economists organised by the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) at Brisbane in Australia from August 12 to 18. Principal Secretary (Agriculture) D.K. Panwar and senior agricultural economist Janaiah will accompany the Minister. Speaking to reporters here on Sunday, Mr. Reddy said some 800 delegates from 100 countries would participate in the convention. The Minister would preside over a session on poverty alleviation programmes and economic reforms on the opening day. He said the State would make out a strong case in the proceedings that economic reforms would be of no use to agricultural development if they were not implemented with a human face. Steps taken by the Government to develop the farm sector would be highlighted.
