Handlooms, crafts exhibition

: A handicrafts and handlooms exhibition is on at the Community Hall on C. P. Ramaswamy Road in Alwarpet.
Traditional Indian crafts such as sheesham wood furniture from Saharanpur, palm leaf engravings with scenes from Ramayana, terracotta, chikaan work from Lucknow, rudraksha, pochampalli saris and Rajasthani bedspreads are available.
Patta paintings with natural colours on cloth treated with tamarind glue and chalk powder are one of the highlights of the fair.
Discount
Handicrafts have a discount of 10 per cent and handlooms 20 per cent.
The exhibition, inaugurated by actor Swarnamalya on Thursday, is open between 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on all days including Sundays till August 16.
