MANGALORE: The State Government has decided to elect its members to the academic council and syndicate of Mangalore University, said Ganesh Karnik, MLC. In an informal chat with presspersons here on Sunday Mr. Karnik, said that the process to appoint the nominees to these two bodies of the university might be completed in a couple of days. Fifteen seats in the academic council and six seats in the syndicate of the university have not been filled even after the university re-constituted these bodies from September 13, 2004. Out of the 15 vacant seats in the council, the Government has still to nominate nine members. The remaining six seats are for students.
