Health check-up camps

Quiz contest winner

Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya School, Gachibowli, won the science quiz competition for schoolchildren conducted by Dr. K.V. Rao Scientific Society here on Sunday. In all, 75 teams from different schools in the city took part in the competition, which was conducted in coordination with the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Science and Technology, according to a press release. Chinmaya Vidyalaya and St. Jospeh's Public School were first and second runner-ups.

Vegetable carving

The School of Gardening of Agri-Horticulture Society, Public Gardens, will conduct a three-day training course in vegetable carving from August 10 on the school premises from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. For details, one may contact on phone nos. 23299779 or 55591474.

Handicrafts exhibition

Lepakshi handicrafts and handloom exhibition being organised by the Andhra Pradesh Handicrafts Development Corporation at Maitri Vihar, Ameerpet, has been extended up to August 13. The decision to extend the exhibition has been taken in view of response it has received from the public, according to a press release.

Diamond grading

The International Gemological Institute in collaboration with the Jewellers Forum will offer its first polished diamond grading programme from August 7. The six-day programme at Hotel Harsha will be conducted for jewellers and diamond jewellery lovers and students, professionals, aspiring jewellery designers and jewellery enthusiasts, according to a press release. Club office-bearers
