Suspended railway employee ends life

A railway employee hanged himself at his house at Railway Quarters in Bhoiguda on Saturday. The police said Y. Ashok (45), who was working as an electrician in South Central Railway, committed suicide in a state of depression after he was placed under suspension.

Burglars decamp with Rs. 25,000

Burglars broke into a shop at Koti and decamped with Rs. 25,000 on Saturday midnight.

They entered Star Optical shop owned by Mohammed Taher Alam Khan by lifting its shutter and made away with the cash. Based on Taher's complaint, a theft case has been registered.

Pedestrian knocked down

A pedestrian was killed after an unidentified vehicle hit him on Tank Bund on Saturday. The police said K. Someswara Rao (65) of Vittal Nagar in Bowenpally was crossing the road when the vehicle hit him resulting in severe injuries. He was shifted to a nearby private hospital where he was declared brought dead.

Body fished out from Hussainsagar lake

A decomposed body of a man aged around 40 years was fished out from the Hussainsagar on Sunday morning. The man, who is yet to be identified, was wearing black trousers and white shirt with black stripes. The body has been preserved at Gandhi Hospital mortuary for identification and autopsy.

Woman succumbs to burns

A 27-year-old woman, who attempted suicide by setting herself ablaze at her house at Kurmaguda in Shahlibanda on July 31, died while undergoing treatment at Osmania General Hospital on Sunday. M. Arthi (27) ended her life due to family problems, the police said.
