Thiruvananthapuram: A 33-year-old mason was electrocuted while engaged in concreting work of Sri Chamundeswari temple at Muloor under the Vizhinjam police station limits on Sunday. Police identified the deceased as Prasad. According to the police, a piece of wood used by the mason came into contact with the live wire while engaged in work around 11.45 a.m. Prasad, who was injured, was rushed to the Medical College Hospital. He succumbed to the injuries around 1.45 p.m. The body had been shifted to the mortuary. The Vizhinjam police have registered a case for unnatural death.
Four injured
Four youths, including an autorickshaw driver, were injured when the vehicle in which they were travelling collided head-on with a KSRTC bus at Keltron Junction near Karakulam at 2.40 p.m. on Sunday. Of the injured, Nishanth, 24, has been admitted to ward six in Medical College Hospital with head injuries. The injured Vinod, 24, Ratheesh, 23, and Biju, 28, the auto driver, are under observation in the casualty wing of the hospital. The accident took place when the youths were going to Nedumangad in the autorickshaw. The KSRTC bus was coming to the city from Nedumangad.
Falls from bus
A 23-year-old commuter sustained serious head injuries when he fell down from a KSRTC bus near Vilappilsala around 4 p.m. on Sunday. The youth, Selvaraj, a resident of Karode, ha been admitted to the Medical College Hospital.
