BANGALORE: The Government has instituted awards to recognise the voluntary efforts of individuals or institutions engaged in rendering services for child welfare and development. The awards carry an amount of Rs. 1 lakh with a citation each for two institutions and Rs. 50, 000 to one individual.

The committee constituted by the Government will recommend the names of institutions and individuals who have made outstanding contribution for five years or more. Applications may be collected from the Deputy Director of Women and Child Development Department in districts concerned on or before August 30.
