Diet allowance for children homes' inmates hiked
Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD:
The Government has enhanced diet charges for all boarders and inmates of the Government Children Homes run by the Women Development and Child Welfare departments with immediate effect. This would be on par with the charges presently paid to the boarders of the SC, ST and BC welfare hostels including the residential institutions and the Victoria Memorial Home.
A press release from the Chief Minister's office said that the students from class three to seven would be paid Rs. 338 per boarder per month against Rs. 270 earlier. Similarly, the rate for those from class eighth to tenth has been increased to Rs. 412 per month.
The Government is also contemplating setting up of integrated hostel facility to promote integration of students of all communities.
